The car drives perfectly fine in a straight line and on the highway, so I’m really hoping this is just a matter of changing the transfer case fluid with the correct spec oil rather than needing a whole new unit, because I’ve seen what those cost and it’s genuinely terrifying. I called the dealership in Abu Dhabi just to get a ballpark estimate for the fluid service and they quoted me something like 4000 dirhams which seems absolutely insane for what is essentially just a drain and fill with some specialized oil. I’m pretty sure I can find an independent specialist who can do this for a fraction of the price, but I’m also really picky about who works on this car because I know Porsches have very specific requirements and you can’t just use any generic gear oil or you’ll make things worse. I’ve been searching around for a Certified Porsche workshop in Musaffah Abu Dhabi because I work in that area and it would be super convenient to drop the car off before work, but I want to make sure I find a place that actually has the right diagnostic tools and experience with these transfer cases specifically. Has anyone here had this shuddering issue on their Cayenne and managed to fix it with just a fluid change, or am I looking at a more serious repair?
